soft access point, smartphone, router. How to connect to WWW?
-
Hello to everybody!
I have a problem on my Android smartphone while connecting to the Internet through the soft access point made in Windows 7.
Please help to solve the issue.I have access to INet from my corporate network on the phone via the same adapter, but cannot connect to INet via my PfSense router.
The same result while using both console (see below) and "TP-LINK Wireless Configuration Utility" is for these two LAN networks.I create the soft AP in Windows from the console using commands (See for example, link text):
"netsh wlan start hostednetwork
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=aNAME key=aPASS keyUsage=persistent"I have:
-
PC with PfSense 2.4.3-RELEASE-p1 (amd64).
Gateway: 192.168.35.1
LAN network in my router: 192.168.35.1/28.
In Firewall/Rules/LAN there is a default "Default allow LAN to any rule" rule with Source: LAN net, Destination: any. -
TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless USB Adapter (ver. 1, Atheros AR9271 NIC).
"Luckily" it's not supported by PfSense (link text). -
Windows 7 Ultimate, SP1 + updates.
Driver version for Wireless USB Adapter: 2.0.0.62.

=============
I tried to manually change the gateway to 192.168.35.1 in the phone and also without result. I've also tried to assign an unoccupied IP to the phone from my LAN IP space -- no results.
I'm a PFSense beginner but with some general IT background.
Please help, if you know.

The problem solved using Windows Network Diagnostics. After running this tool/app, I was able to connect to Internet from my smartphone. The tool turned out to be a simplest solution. That's all. All the best to netgaters!
P.S. It's is a very strange autoformating of the post... I haven't marked out by another font and haven't used bold face for some text in the main message, here in the thread.
