well, hello friends I need some help, have pfsense captive portal correct configured with authentication disabled, dns resolver enabled for all interfaces and DHCP server enabled.
Nothing complicated but this only work under wifi, not work when I connect net cable.

      The IP interface is: 192.168.0.1
      Dhcp server range is: 192.168.0.100-200
      Subnet mask is /24
We're test this whit a laptop, did in connect net cable and get ip 192.168.0.126 but not showing captive portal.
Later I'did in connect with wifi and get ip 192.168.0.145 in this case this work it.

      Please help with this problem

        Hi,

Strange indeed - I could find many reasons why the cable connection works, but maybe not the Wifi connection.
The Wifi connection is the same thing as a cable connection, because there is this path : pfSense <=> cable <=> switch <=> cable <=> Your PC ( you are using a switch in between pfSense and your PC, right ? )
With Wifi, things are more complex : pfSense <=> cable <=> switch / and / or Access Point <=> Radio signal <======> Your PC.
The circuit is the same, but Wifi added the two radio converts and the fact that another interface is used on your PC.

        Can you run

        ipconfig /all

        (or comparable on other OS's.
in both situations. Check if the DNS and Gateway and DHCP server are all the same in both situations ?
By any chance : your cable NIC on your PC doesn't any have static settings ? or, with other words, the DHCP-client is activated for that interface ?

As far as I know, there are no problems using any recent browser right now.

See for yourself pfSense Hangout Captive Portal - May 2017 - start at around 51 minutes, 20 seconds.
See the entire video - it's worth it, every second ;)
