        The MaxMind database didn't install correctly. Check the package installation log file in the /conf folder for more details. Check if something is preventing you from accessing this site:

        https://geolite.maxmind.com/download/geoip/database

        Suggest a re-install of the package.

            When a package is installed, it saves a log to that folder. One of those files must be for the package installation but can't see the full file/path as its a small window.
            When you install the package, look at the package installation window and see what errors are occurring. Or post the contents of the installation window.

            Try to ping geolite.maxmind.com and ensure that the pfSense box can get to that domain.

                Well you need to fix that first or it won't download the maxmind db. Its possible that its being blocked by the IDS... I can't tell as I am not in control of your box :)

                            Hello,
                            Getting the same error, no other packages installed. No errors during the installation either. Running the latest OS that was just released today.2.4.4-p2.

                            I can ping geolite from within pfsense and from my windows environment.

                            Thanks

                            update: maybe i will try the devel version

                              Post the curl error message so we can diagnose. If it is exactly the same error as the OP, then the issue is with Cisco Umbrella blocking the domain.

                                  @tippet5x said in PfBlockerNG Error:

                                  pfSense-pkg-pfBlockerNG: 2.1.4_14 [pfSense]

                                  Update to pfBlockerNG v2.1.4_16 which has this issue fixed... You can also move to pfBlockerNG-devel which is much improved.
