Hi guys, this is my first time to post here. I really need your help.
I configured pfsense 2.4.4 with squid and squidguard package installed.
when I enable the proxy settings on my end user/ desktop the speedtest.net shows latency error, but when I disable the proxy settings there is no problem at all, I got 20Mbps down and 15Mbps upload.
I think the squid has problem or I missed some configuration.. I also install and configure in virtualbox I got the same error.
    Help pls. Thanks

      Try using SpeedOf.me speed test.
As for your config. no one has any clue unless you tell us how you
      configured it.

I think this is normal. Use Microsoft Edge or a browser that supports flash. Then go to http://legacy.speedtest.net/.

The other option is to manually configure the specific PC you are testing from to bypass the proxy, unless it is setup in transparent mode. Then do the above.

@impatient speedof.me works pretty good. I think speedtest.net has problem with loading if it detects proxy settings enabled on browser. Using speedof.me I got 20 mbps down and 18mbps up which satisfies me. I think I need to upgrade my internet subscription to meet the requirements of more than 500 users. Do you think dual WAN is a good idea? Thanks and regards,

@raffi_ yah that is what I am doing, to test the actual bandwidth from the internet provider I have to disable the proxy settings from the browser internet options. I use speedtest.net to check the actual bandwidth from the provider and speedof.me when the internet connection distributed to the network. More likely the 20mbps subscription is not enough for 500 end users.

@mr-newbie By the way, I have installed squid, squid proxy and light squid. I also configured LDAP for my Active Directory users so the transparent proxy was not enabled. Thanks for your suggestion. :)
