Strikethrough Doesn't Work

Strikethrough doesn't appear to work on the forum. Instead of striking through everything, it just seems to add a couple of tildas to the front and back. Example:

~~Aluminum, linoleum.

Rubber baby buggy bumper.~~

Markdown often fails with multi-line input. Does it in Slack too.
