FTP logs showing IP of pfSense
-
Hi. I have pfSense setup as our firewall / router version 1.2.2. I have an FileZilla FTP Server behind this firewall and when someone from outside our network logs into the FTP server, the log files on FileZilla show the IP at the same IP as the pfSense box and not the remote IP where it is originating. Is there something I can change in the configuration to change this?
Thanks,

Disabling the FTP helper should do it. You'll probably need to explicitly forward a portrange for passive operation though.

Awesome, that did it. Thanks so much!
Someone has been trying to hit our FTP the last few days trying to guess user/pass info and it was driving me crazy. Now I have them banned on the FTP server. Is there a way with pfSense that I can ban their specific IP all together?
Thanks again!

I would create an alias containing all the IPs i want to block.
Have a block-rule on the WAN at the top of all other rules with this alias as source.
