      Is it possible to redirect a user to an external page like https://capitiveportal.com/login/ (this would be hosted externally) and then have this authenicate with the pfsense box?

      We used ValuePoint's network controllers and it did this via posting to a form http://1.1.1.1/ and then the valuepoint box looked for the 1.1.1.1 and grabbed the traffic.

      Any ideas?
