Having lots of problems with phones on the Nextiva service. Pfsense 2.3.4.p1. Phones randomly reboot. We have done a lot of work on this issue, replaced network switch, set phones to static IP's, upgraded internet service, switched phones out, etc. Nextiva support is saying Pfsense routers have an issue with sip traffic. Can you confirm if this is the case and if so is there any settings that might fix the issue within the Pfsense software?

@crispycritter said in Nextiva VOIP support:

        Wow- that's pretty general..

I run several SIP devices in several places and have no issues with my service.

First thing I would try is making a WAN rule allowing your providers servers access to your VOIP network.

Yes, have already done that. Those were added to the routers a long time ago. But Nextiva is saying they can't support their cloud based phone systems on Pfsense routers. Having tried everything else this is their fall back position.

Like I mentioned- I have no issues with running SIP over any of my installs.

What do their log files show? They should be able to tell you exactly where it is failing.

Have you tried the SIProxd package?

Can attest, we have many customer's running SIP behind pfSense. I would look into this article and see if it helps https://www.netgate.com/docs/pfsense/nat/configuring-nat-for-voip-phones.html
