Squid only for caching
-
How do I configure squid3 only to cache the files?
I use E2guardian for proxie and just like to use squid to cache the files to save the internet bandwidth.
I'm waiting, thanks.

Don't waste your time. Unless you have the time to dig deep into squid config, and become an expert on refresh patterns and store_ids, you're not going to get squid to cache very much. Last time I tested, I was lucky to get 4-7% hit rate. See:

Most content is now Https, and very difficult to cache. To conserve bandwidth you might do better trying to aggressively blocking ads on the network.

Prioritizing traffic could help make better use of the bandwidth available. I never looked at the traffic shaper, but I imagine someone on here has.
