pfSense 2.4.4, after a regular shutdown its stuck
-
Does anyone know any workarounds? I tried memstick but it doesn't load. May be there is a command to boot it from loader prompt?

Still need help

Although you don't say, I assume you have tried rebooting and/or power cycling the box and it comes back to the same place and gets stuck every time. If true, and you are positive nobody changed a setting in the machine's BIOS, then I would suspect a hardware issue. First guess would be a failed hard drive.
If you have a backup config, try replacing the disk drive, installating pfSense again and restore the original
config.xml
during the installation. -
Are you sure you updated to 2.4.4?
That looks like an error some have seen on 2.5.0: https://forum.netgate.com/topic/141794/reboot-fails-after-upgrade-with-kvm-vm-can-t-find-boot-entropy/7
You probably need to change an option in your BIOS for how it boots Legacy or UEFI

Ok, so I got it to work by changing boot order in BIOS and reinstalled pfSense.
Now, I've been wondering how do I go about upgrading BIOS on my micro firewall appliance since it's not netgate hardware?
-
If it's not Netgate hardware, you are probaby going to have to lean on Google searches or the web site of the motherboard manufacturer for information on updating the BIOS.

Yeah I had the same problem with what used to be my XenServer. Disabling UEFI boot quickly "fixed" it.
