LAN resources available when using cellular but not wifi
-
Hi,
With the help of good people here I was able to connect to my OpenVPN server on pfSense. I was using my iPhone's cellular data. Accessing LAN and WAN fine.
On vacation connecting my iPhone to friends house AT&T wifi, connect to my home OpenVPN on pfSense successfully. But no LAN resources. I can browse internet fine and using a whatsmyip-type site shows that indeed my traffic is routed through my OpenVPN tunnel.
I'm slow at using iPhone to post logs and such so when I get to a laptop or pc I'll show you iOS OpenVPN connect log.
In the meantime, what would cause this?
Thank you!

Your local network is the same or overlaps your remote home network..
Example your home network 192.168.1.0/24
And network your on is also 192.168.1.0/24 or 192.168.0.0/16 or 192.168.0.0/23, etc.
This is why its a good idea to use uncommon network at home that is different than your typical default networks..

Thank you so much! Makes sense! -
Its a very common issue.. Users don't normally think about it until they run into ;)
