PPPoE Failover Google results are out-dated
-
When searching on Google for how to do PPPoE failover, (pfsense pppoe failover) lots of old and at this point wrong answers come up in the results. The first hit has an at-the-time true answer from the Dev team as "not really possible". Today though the feature is available out of the box and works great!
I'm hoping someone could unlock and update the answer of at least the 1st search result topic:
https://forum.netgate.com/topic/54940/failover-and-pppoeMaybe just put a link to this more recent topic that helps explain how to do PPPoE failover with CARP:
https://forum.netgate.com/topic/135904/configure-an-pppoe-on-an-carp-ifI spent a few days researching PPPoE before finding up to date information, so just want to help the Googlers out there have a chance!

Perhaps @jimp could do a quick follow up on that and add a remark about that being possible since 2.4.3 even if maybe not the best solution.

There may be a GUI option available but using PPPoE with CARP is not something we want to encourage or endorse. If someone really wants to know how to do it, they can find the info.
