Services c-icap & clamd
-
Hello
I got myself the problem that I cannot start the services c-icap & clamd.
It is the first time that I have encountered it and I would like to know how I can solve this issue. -
What version of pfSense are you running and on what type of hardware?
Look in the system log (under STATUS > SYSTEM LOGS) and see what errors are logged when attempting to start both services.
If you have an ARM-based Netgate appliance such as the SG-3100, there were some issues with earlier package versions that resulted in the binary parts of the packages faulting either on startup or shortly thereafter with a Signal 10 Bus Error. This is an "Unaligned Memory Access" error. The error should be fixed in the newest pfSense-2.4.4 release tree and in all of the latest packages for that tree. Same on the pfSense-2.5-DEVEL side.

The ClamAV plugin for Squid is not enabled by default. You cannot start those services if it is not.
Have you enabled it? Otherwise that is the expected behaviour.

Ah! @stephenw10's advice is more likely your problem. I did not notice the squid instance running.
