      Hello everyone,

For a school project we are working on setting up captive portal with AD services.
We want to set up the RADIUS MSCHAPv2. However, on the pfSense side of things, the only option we found is RADIUS MAC:

We were wondering where this option went, or if it's still even available. Image of older pfSense version:

If this is not possible anymore, then we do not know how else to get captive portal with AD authentication, so in that case the question would be, if you guys could give us any pointers in the right direction. Thanks for any help, it is very much apreciated

      Greetings,
Students from across the globe :3

Hey, we tried this method, and sure enough we are now able to add the AD server but for whatever reason it still does not show the captive portal page to clients.
We have set up DNS, DHCP, and Captive Portal on pfsense and our windows 10 client can acces the internet and the AD server just fine, however, there is no captive portal. One thing that does seem to work is the per user download and upload speed limits.

            Here is our configuration:

I hope this is enough information, and thank you for an answers / tips!

              Hi,

              10.0.0.3 ? 10.0.0.5 ?

              Save your works.
Reset pfSense to default - activate portal as per instructions : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3Cq2kjCWM8odzoIzftS04A/videos (several portal videos exist, take the basic one).
You have a working situation in a minute or so.

Then add your changes. After each small step : full testing.
As soon as it breaks, you know what (not) to do.

Hey Gertjan, Thank you for your suggestion on my topic. Sadly the only 3 videos i can find are each at least 45 minutes long. Can you please link me to the suggested "Basic" captive portal video? you mentioned it would be up and running in about a minute or so, which would be great. :)

You want more videos ? Less ?

Keep in mind : managing a captive portal is like driving a car. Takes you a faction of a second to take a seat, start and drive.
Took you several months to learn how to do so.

The videos : just take the most simple one. Do what Jimp (the author) does. Guaranteed it will work.

A setup with FreeRadius ( ... RADIUS MSCHAPv2. AD Server .... ) that already a more advanced setup. See the other videos.
