Hi All ,
I was wondering if installing such m.2 card on my PFsense mini PC is supported or , in general, a good idea to replace my unifi AP PRO .
Thanks for sharing your 2cents with me .

Lol, worst idea ever. Do some research and read the post here in the Wireless section.

no good, i like to tamper and experiment but best solution is to replace your unifi AP with another one. check https://forum.netgate.com/topic/142991/athp-driver
freebsd does not have 802.11ac working let alone 802.11ax -
Yup, not working yet, even in FreeBSD.
Also generally a worse setup than a separate access point in terms of coverage just from being able to position it suitably.
If you have the hardware and want to help debug the driver then give it a try but it's not close to production ready at this point.

Did you actually mean 802.11ax? I just read that as 802.11a* but now I'm thinking probably not.
Advice is still that same except that actual .ax is probably years away! That other thread/driver is for .ac.

It's here now. Anything that has the "Wi-Fi 6" label is ax.

@JKnott
he ment that it is years away from FreeBSD and i will say that if things stay the way it is now it will be implemented in no less than 10 years, ... probably more ... -
That^ exactly.
