@akuma1x what browser and OS are you using?

I'm using macOS Mojave with Google Chrome and I just did the exact same thing and the menu is truncated still. I can attach a video if it helps.

First off dang @akuma1x your macOS is outdated! Sorry just messing with you!

This is a video of macOS 10.14.6 on Firefox 68.0.2. See if you see what I'm talking about.

I couldn't get the video to attach (assuming filetype not permitted for upload on this site).

Confirmed that it also behaves this way in FF on Win10. Also behaves this way with Chrome.

Just change the Top Navigation back to Scrolls and be done with it.

Nope, mine doesn't behave like that. The whole window scrolls, including the menu, with a mouse wheel roll.

My Top Navigation setting is set to "scroll with page"

@KOM I don't want to be "done with it". It's obviously something that needs to be addressed.

It's probably easy for you to just say that, however, I personally like the fixed navigation at the top. Saying to change it to scrolls is a workaround and not a solution to the issue.

I'm not saying it doesn't work with the scroll with page enabled. I'm only talking about when it's set to fixed.

In the six years I've been here helping out, I've never heard anyone else complain about this. Go to redmine and log it as a bug instead of a feature request and maybe it will get some attention.

The fixed option is intended for large screens only.

The gui designers know about this. If there is not a feature request (it is not a bug report as it is behaving as designed) on https://redmine.pfsense.org/ feel free to make one. I would not be surprised if it is rejected outright, however, though a feature request probably will not be.

A feature request with an accompanying pull request that implements the behavior you seek would likely result in a more welcome reception.

There is https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/8419 and a PR linked on that issue which was closed and has some comments worth reading.

Don't want to derail the topic but perhaps it would be worthwhile to also consider an alternative theme with a left-sided menubar instead of the top-nav for the near future. If you have (and we have!) a multitude of VLANs configured, even if no other menu gets that long, the "Interfaces" menu becomes badly managable with a loooong list of assigned interfaces scrolling down the bottom.
A sidebar-style menu with a list-style indentation and smaller font for the interfaces would conquer that and unclutter the main viewing space. As larger resolutions tend to also add in width, the current design for mobile and smaller screens would still be useful but taking advantage of bigger/wider screens and taking large scale setups with many many (virtual) interfaces into account would be nice :)
