Topic pretty much says it, but was just wondering if there were any update on the progress of getting traffic shaping enabled on ix interfaces again.

That is pretty much the same answer given on the topic, i have been able to find the last year :)
But limiters on WAN interface is not working in 2.5 at the moment. i tried testing WAN limiters on 2.4.4 P3 and it didn't function properly either, just rapidly slows down until nothing gets passed.
I also noticed that ix interfaces now uses the iflib driver, but can't seem to find anything reliable on it supporting altq.
Since my ISP thought i needed a downgrade and changed my fiber connection to gpon i have had a ton of buffer bloat and could really use some kind of shaping to improve on things.

Hmm. There is another one Intel ix driver version — https://www.freshports.org/net/intel-ix-kmod/
But what hardware and what speed you use? Mine is X550-T2, but I don't have such problems with limiters, only found that bufferbloat is getting worse with limiters.

            I have a Supermicro X10SDV-4C-TLN2F - https://www.supermicro.com/en/products/motherboard/X10SDV-4C-TLN2F
which i guess uses the X557-AT.
But it seems all have problems with limiter on WAN at least on 2.5.
My ISP set the speed to 550/550 from 60/60 for a couple of months which minimized the problem and now i am at 120/120 which is considerably better than 60/60 but still horrible.

2.5 will be moving to a 12.1 or stable/12 base, but that choice has not yet been made. It definitely will not stay on 12.0, though.

Even if 12.1 is selected, if specific changes to stable/12 after 12.1-RELEASE are beneficial, we can pick those back if needed.

I think we need to wait...

That's an entirely different issue, or do you perhaps have some insight as to what Freebsd 12.1 might bring to the table?
But other than that your right, we can't do much else but wait :)

I do think, that it is better to wait until Netgate bumps the FreeBSD version and then, only if it still not working, to report it.
I hope there are some things already fixed, at least I've seen some network and other patches already done on STABLE.
My plan is to test intel-ix-kmod 10 gigabit FreeBSD Base Driver.

Tested. Nothing new regarding shaping, still no go.

                      @w0w

I believe it's disabled somewhere else as drivers has been updated a couple of times since the problem were discovered.

Looks like support for ix drivers and ALTQ might be fixed in 2.5.0?

@techlw Seems so, tested it shortly four months ago and it seemed fine then.
