Is it secure to use pfBlockerNG with pfsense? pfBlockerNG seems to modify the firewall tables and add dynamic rules. I'm very uncomfortable with this because I'm not sure if pfBlockerNG could accidentally open(!) ports I don't want to be open. ( I was originally searching for a pi hole like blocker and landed always by pfBlockerNG)

Do you know how pfBlockerNG works and if it's a good idea to use it? Can you suggest better alternatives? (Squidguard could do this maybe? Better or worse?)
