I've run into several instances of my PIA OpenVPN connections timing out , but when I look under Status -> OpenVPN, it shows them as being "up" and everything looks normal.

I can verify that these connections are not normal by trying to ping address using the -S flag

      ping -S <VPN virtual address of the client that's down> <target address>

The pings will time out. If i refresh the effected PIA client interface, it works.

Is there a setting I can tune in PFsense for the connection status to be refreshed in a more timely manner? Right now, I'm using a cron job that runs at random intervals that uses the ping command as described above to check on the connection, but that feels like a hack.
