I have an SG-3100 running 2.4.5 connected to a 24 port unifi switch on lan1. The switch provisions and works great.

I created a vlan on lan1 of the router, setup and enabled dhcp, and added an allow all rule for the vlan. When I change the port profile in the switch to the vlan, the switch disconnects. I can still ping both, lan and vlan ip's and have access to the internet.

I can also see traffic on the vlan under Interface Stats. Does 802.1q VLAN mode need to be enabled for this to work?

      Thanks, D

802.1q VLAN mode on which? PfSense or the switch? If you've enabled VLANs on pfSense, you also need to on the switch, if you want to be able to manipulate the VLANs with it. Otherwise, the switch will pass everything, VLAN or not.

        I haven't lost my mind. It's around here...somewhere...

802.1q is disabled on both devices. Essentially, i want to run several vlans on lan1 of the sg3100.

Turn it on, on both. 802.1q is the only way you're going to get VLANs working between the 2. Both have to be configured with the same VLANs.
