When I set the openvpn server mode with auth + encryption, the cllient shows timeout, however only with authentication it connects perfectly.
      Any ideas?

Is the client also set for authentication + encryption? The change must be made on both sides.

If they both match, check the logs on both and see what they say.

[SOLVED] Following your suggestion I did a clean install of the OpenVPn Server, but this time paying special attention to server and client config related to Encryption. I think the key was to put the OpenVPN server running at first try without having to change nothing afterward, and then, finally, checking the parameters on the client side and setting the AES-CBC Cipher Alg. Anyway, i still don't know why, but server is running with Auth+Encrypt and clients are connecting to it without any problems.
Thank you very much for your support.

Or use the pfSense openvpn-client-export package so you can export the config based on the current server setup.

Edit : and where are the logs ??
