Squidguard-Target Category-Regular Expression broken?
-
Hi,
I'm using Pfsense 2.4.5-RELEASE-p1 with Squid and Squidguard in transparent mode (https and http). I'm using a Blacklist, for blocking various site. This setup is working fine for me, unfortunately the blacklist is only a good base for blocking. After some time i found sites, which should be blocked but doesn't seem to be on the blacklist, so i added a new Target Category and started filling it up with domains.
Since i want to block even more sites i started using regular expression in the Target Category and this is where my problem starts.
I'd like to mention, that i know regular expressions and to be on the safe site is test them on https://www.regextester.com/.I can get simple words like "big", "hardcore", "tits" each separatet with the "|" to work. When i try to combine the with regex the don't seem to work for me. I started simple and tried to understand at which point my regex wont work anymore.
My basic test "big\s*blob" or even "big\sblob" (i know the words don't make much sense, but just for basic testing...) does not work. I checked the syntax, this should be a valid regex.
When i search in my search engine "big blob" i get some results instead of a blocked notification.
So i would like to know is regex in target Category broken? Or do i miss something here?
