Pfsense + External Wireless Access Point, Grayed out SSID
-
I've installed and configured Pfsense connected to my internet provider's router.
The ISP router's port is set to bridge.
Pfsense is configured and successfully providing internet/network through LAN. LAN is set to static IP address
I've connected one of the LAN port on my external wireless access point (running DD-WRT) to the LAN port of the pfsense box.
On the wireless access point, I've set the WAN Connection to DHCP and the Router IP as static IP
I've also disabled the Network Address Server Setting (DHCP) on the wireless access point itself.
I can get internet from the AP when connecting to it by wire. I can also see the wireless SSID in the wireless network list. However the SSID is grayed out on my Linux box. Its not grayed out on my phone but when I try to connect to it, it doesnt.
Can someone help me identify the mistake I've made?
Thank you

It would pretty much have to be something with the AP, as you should be able to connect to it, even if there's nothing beyond. You may get an error message about no network and then disconnect.

I agree that its an issue on the AP. Im not sure what though. Am I setting the DHCP settings incorrectly or the gateway/static IPs incorrectly?

I wouldn't think it's even that. I was setting up a guest SSID on Sunday and, with Linux, I'd get the error situation I mentioned, until I had the VLAN configured properly. What about encryption? Is that set up properly? Perhaps the AP is defective.

AP is set to WPA3.

AP is set to WPA3.
Try WPA2. WPA3 is fairly new and many devices don't support it.

What do you know... WPA3 was the issue :)
Thanks for your help
