Warzone firewall settings
Can some please help me with setting up the firewall to allow WARZONE through without all the 'beebs'?
Yes I'm new at this....Thank you in advance
Ok, you most likely only need a simple NAT rule and an inbound firewall rule on your pfsense WAN interface (that the NAT rule auto creates). So, it's pretty easy.
Go to Firewall -> NAT and click on the "Add" button. Doesn't matter which one, up or down arrow, either one will work.
Interface = WAN
Protocol = TCP/UDP
Source = Any
Source Port Range = from any to any
Destination Port Range = you need the WARZONE port number(s) here
Redirect Target IP = your WARZONE computer or console IP address
Description = give it a good name
Filter Rule Association = Create new associated filter rule
Then click the "Save" button.
Now, go to your Firewall -> Rules -> WAN and check to see that the new firewall rule was created. There shouldn't be anything to do in here, like I typed above, it gets auto-created.
And, finally, go to an open port checker website (https://www.canyouseeme.org/) and type in the port number(s) you just opened.
So, word of warning - you just opened a hole(s) in your firewall to the world. You need to know that this is a risky move, since anybody, anywhere, can access the WARZONE ports on the computer or console now. If that's not a big deal to you, leave it and run it as is. You actually may not have a choice but to run it like this to play the game, I don't know. You can also setup, in your NAT rule, specific source IP addresses, like your friends or family, so they can play the game. It's up to you.
Just wondering... did you already search online to see how to setup the open ports for WARZONE? If so, what did you find?
@no1scary Call of Duty - Warzone ports:
Sorry it's taken me a few days to reply. I did some research and got frustrated fast as yours was the only one that was easy to read and understand. Rest were so in depth it got confusing.
I did try a little testing on the set up you have. Not sure if I got it fully correct as I still got 'beeps'.
So i reverted back and just kind of put up with the beeps. More secure. The only thing that I have a little concern on is the 'STRICT' NAT type in game. Is that something I should be worried about?
