Am I missing a whitelist somewhere? Can't block YouTube
-
Greetings,
New to PfSense, and pfBlockerNG. I've figured out pretty much what i'm trying to accomplish now, but I can't block youtube despite attempting to list it in every black list within DBSBL settings or pfSense i can find. I must be missing something.
(why block youtube? - virtual school, i'm killing all access to social media and distractions so kids stop watching pokemon videos and do school work so i can actually work as well)
I've utilized the following DNSfeed:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/StevenBlack/hosts/master/alternates/social/hostsThis feed doesn't block youtube explicitly so in the custom DNSBL I've added the following, which i cut from the DNSBL Whitelist within the DNSBL general settings for pfBlockerNG.

I am running latest version of pfBlockerNG- did a fresh install as one step. Thanks for insight. next we'll figure out IP based DNSBL rules so adults can still use social or youtube since a lot of us adults use it for educational purposes and not pokemon.
Thank you for assistance.

Hello!
Check the settings on Firewall -> pfBlockerNG -> DNSBL -> DNSBL SafeSearch

Thank you! I cannot believe I did not look at that setting. I've ensured safe search redirection, youtube restrictions and firefox DoH blocking are all disabled, which i think is the default.
Problem solved. thank you very much.
