      Greetings,

New to PfSense, and pfBlockerNG. I've figured out pretty much what i'm trying to accomplish now, but I can't block youtube despite attempting to list it in every black list within DBSBL settings or pfSense i can find. I must be missing something.

(why block youtube? - virtual school, i'm killing all access to social media and distractions so kids stop watching pokemon videos and do school work so i can actually work as well)

      I've utilized the following DNSfeed:
      https://raw.githubusercontent.com/StevenBlack/hosts/master/alternates/social/hosts

This feed doesn't block youtube explicitly so in the custom DNSBL I've added the following, which i cut from the DNSBL Whitelist within the DNSBL general settings for pfBlockerNG.

      [Google / DoubleClick][AS15169][66.249.64.0 - 66.249.95.255]

      0.0.0.0 ad.rs.doubleclick.net

      [Google / DoubleClick][AS15169][72.14.192.0 - 72.14.255.255]

      0.0.0.0 affiliate.2mdn.net

      0.0.0.0 s0.2mdn.net #[affects video stream]

      0.0.0.0 static.2mdn.net #[affects Youtube]

0.0.0.0 s.youtube.com # Blocking this will interfere with video watching history
      0.0.0.0 s2.youtube.com
      0.0.0.0 youtube.112.2o7.net
      0.0.0.0 www.youtube.com
      0.0.0.0 m.youtube.com
      0.0.0.0 youtubei.googleapis.com
      0.0.0.0 youtube.googleapis.com
      0.0.0.0 www.youtube-nocookie.com
      0.0.0.0 .youtube.com

As mentioned, i located the general whitelist, is there another whitelist i'm neglecting? I can't seem to find one. I am running latest version of pfBlockerNG- did a fresh install as one step. Thanks for insight. next we'll figure out IP based DNSBL rules so adults can still use social or youtube since a lot of us adults use it for educational purposes and not pokemon.

      Thank you for assistance.

        Hello!

Check the settings on Firewall -> pfBlockerNG -> DNSBL -> DNSBL SafeSearch

Thank you! I cannot believe I did not look at that setting. I've ensured safe search redirection, youtube restrictions and firefox DoH blocking are all disabled, which i think is the default.

Problem solved. thank you very much.
