Atomic Pi 5ghz problem
Hi, i wanted to run a 5ghz wifi on atomic pi but it crashes when i start it. It works with 2.4ghz. Im thinking it is driver related. I believe the chip is a Ralink RT5572N. Is there a fix to make it working? thanks
Can we see the log?
Is that in 2.4.5p1?
What settings are you using?
Hi, yes its the version 2.4.5p1
I have read a bit and it seems that the mediatek ralink driver for freebsd doesent support certain modes. However the system shouldnt crash because of that. When i enable the wifi the whole network shuts down. I have to restart the device and load the last configuration console. I did it only a few times till i decided to use my openwrt router for the wifi.

Yes, the Atomic Pi is an interesting device for a number of reasons but USB connected Ralink WIFI is not one of them!
I would have expected the run(4) driver to support it though.
Yeah there are probably better supported wifi modules out there, also for the cabled ethernet. But for $35 i cant complain. Linux is probably a good option too as it has a bit better hardware support.
