The pfb_filter process core faults when clearing firewall log. Happens every time I clear the firewall log.

Status->System Logs->Firewall Manage Firewall Log 'Tab' and then Clear

My configuration is rather basic. I will provide other details if needed to help reproduce the issue. Just tell me what you need to know.

Not a really big deal, I just use the service watchdog to restart it. Playing with some VLAN config and associated rules so I am clearing the log as I figure out my rules. Not something I do regularly.

If you can reliably reproduce the issue, I recommend submitting a bug report on the pfSense Redmine site here: https://redmine.pfsense.org/projects/pfsense. Include the steps to reproduce the bug as stated in your post. That will ensure it gets the proper attention.

Sounds like the pfb_filter service is perhaps trying to write to the older version of the log. More specifically, might be that when you clear the log the clog process is restarting and thus any old file handles that pfb_filter had are no longer valid. Just a guess, though. Still warrants a bug report I think.

I'll get that done this evening or tomorrow morning. I guess it goes without saying it's not a wide spread problem but something out of wack with my config. That you sir!
