      Hi Guys

I had some difficulty setting up an OpenVPN client over the last couple of days. The VPN connection worked at the pfSense shell but none of the clients behind the router could get access to the tunnel.

I think I came up against a pfSense bug - an edge case where an unused gateway already set up on the router which was part of a gateway group (I had a failover set up to a 4G dongle) gets picked up as the gateway for the VPN during the client setup by mistake.

When I deleted the gateway group, deleted the old gateway and rebooted the router the correct gateway for the VPN was formed automatically and now all the clients are showing the VPN external IP (https://ifconfig.co) so the whole network is being properly serviced by the VPN.

Has anyone seen this one before?

      Regards
      Ian Carson
