Snort services won't start

Hi, I just downloaded the snort package but I'm having a problem with its services. Snort interface wont's start. I tried to reinstall the package but still persist. My pfsense version is 2.4.4 p3. Thanks

You cannot install packages on out-of-date pfSense versions because the packages are always recompiled against the most current pfSense version. So you can't install 2.4.4 pfSense (when 2.4.5 is out) and then turn around and try to install or even upgrade a package. It will break things because the packages are always current with the latest underlying pfSense version. There are several threads about this on the forum. And it's not just Snort. It's pretty much every package that works this way. Unfortunately pfSense itself won't prevent you from doing this (installing a package from the new pfSense version branch on top of an older pfSense installation).
So in your case, you have a messed up system now. I would delete the Snort package, upgrade pfSense to the latest 2.4.5_p1 version, then reinstall Snort.
