Is anybody from Netgate able to confirm if this is the actual root cause?

(i.e. the reason there are no 2.5.x development builds since 27th November, 2020 is due to the imminent launch of pfSense Plus?)

If so, is there some way to transition from pfSense 2.5.x to pfSense Plus? Or does it require a full re-install?

The public snapshots are disabled while we test things internally getting closer to the release. Since we test more intensely on Netgate hardware, factory snapshots get disabled before CE snapshots because we are more likely to break things as we refine the process. Especially when it comes to the ARM-based systems, if we kept public snapshots up, people might accidentally cause the systems to not boot back up due to a bug in a snapshot, and recovery may not be so simple. Usually those kinds of bugs are short-lived, but it's best if we hit them internally where we can rebuild our own lab/test systems easily, whereas it's not always so easy for customers.

If you are on factory now, it will work just like any other upgrade has in the past, no special action needed.

@jimp I'm fine with the update freeze, but I wanted to try wireguard on my 7100, and it isn't showing up on the 27 Nov build of 2.5.

Is that a bug in my upgrade or a difference between CE and Netgate builds?
