OpenVPN slowing pfSense down considerably

That's a console question.
Option 8, and use 'top' - it sorts on processor usage be default.
What's on top ?
And what do these OpenVPN servers do ?
Nothing - just waiting for an incoming connection ?
Or do they have users connected who are filling up the entire WAN bandwidth ?
If it's just the GUI that's slow, I've seen that if it is trying to resolve DNS (check updates on dashboard, etc.) and has to wait for DNS to time out.
@teamits Nice one, thanks to you both for the answers
