OpenVPN slowing pfSense down considerably
-
Hi - I have come across this weird thing recently where 2 OpenVPN instances slowed the PFSense box down to a crawl - menus unresponsive, everything seems to hang for 20 seconds before doing anything. Disable the 2 openVPN instances and we're back to normal.
Any ideas?
The PFSense box is fairly powerful:Any ideas?
Thanks.

Hi,
That's a console question.
Option 8, and use 'top' - it sorts on processor usage be default.
What's on top ?And what do these OpenVPN servers do ?
Nothing - just waiting for an incoming connection ?
Or do they have users connected who are filling up the entire WAN bandwidth ? -
If it's just the GUI that's slow, I've seen that if it is trying to resolve DNS (check updates on dashboard, etc.) and has to wait for DNS to time out.
