      Hello,

      I was wondering if the experts could assist me. Last night I had a power outage and my router won't recover. I did a fair amount of troubleshooting and narrowed down the issue that OpenVPN service interrupts the pfsense Router bootup and won't proceed unless I type my IP Vanish account password. I knew this as I plugged a monitor on PFsense and watched the console logs. It stopped at;

      Configuring LAN3 interface ... done
      Configuring CARP settings ... done
      Syncing OpenVPN settings ... Enter Auth Password:

      and it stops there, I tried to type my IP vanish account password and it continued...

      This doesn't make sense to me as half of the bootup sequence relies on me typing my account Specific password (yes My IP vanish account password) before proceeding with the boot up.

      I've been using PFSense for over a year and been very happy with it.
      Last week I setup IPVanish using OpenVPN settings and created 2 profiles. All went OK as I expected and VPN was functional, I tested all OK no issues.
      I then disconnected the two VPN profiles and plan to just connect them later whenever I wish to VPN on a host behind PFSENSE.

      Can somebody please shed some light on this behaviour, is this normal? what is the reason for this? I expect that OpenVPN is just an overlay service and shouldn't show stop the router when there is power outage.

      Thank you in advance for your assistance. this is a great Forum.!

      Regards,
      Rob

          Looks like nobody has experience this issue.
          Pfsense has been iffy of late. Even my https router login to router has been acting weird.
