Router is down after implementing PFsense
-
guys i hv a problem with pfsense.. but after i implementing the PFsense.. the router interface is always up and down and i have to reboot the router.. (first of all i think that is router fault)
this is my topology
user –-- switch ----- PFsense ------ router ------>internet
i'm using bridging method..after that incident i'm try not using PFsense but the router is perfectly fine now..
i assume that is a pfsense fault..do u guys have a similar problem like me?

Can you start giving relevant information for anyone to figure out what you're doing?(Yes i'm running this exact setup since years with pfSense and never had problems)

i'm sorry my english is not good..
what's the meaning of crystall ball broken??okay about 3 days ago i implement the PFsense firewall on my network..
after i'm implement the PFsense it works perfectly but 1 hour later
there is some problem..the first problem is my internet is down..
user –--- switch ------ PFsense ------ router(building A) --(F.Optic)--- router (building B) ----- internet
from the topology above.. user can ping to PFsense and access web GUI but user cannot ping to router..
at first i thought it's router fault.. since i can ping firewall.. i always restart the router(problem is solved when i restart router but 1 hour later it's down again.. the problem goes on 3 days in a row..my boss told me that's must be a firewall error because when i use sniffing from router. the IP come from firewall WAN interface not from the client IP ( he thinks it's a proxy, i have a proxy but i'm not using transparent proxy and i never setup browser to client so it's cannot be proxy)
the other problem is.. i created a rule to allow any traffic.. i have a DHCP server on a router but some client never get IP from dhcp server, but some client get's IP from DHCP server.. at first i thought there some switch error..
so after the problem i'm tired and i tried to do what my boss said to discard the PFsense.. i never think that is PFsense fault.. because it's not logic..
but after i discard the firewall everything works fine.. no need to reboot router or firewall
it is has anything to do with PFsense do you think ?
sorry if my english is confusing.. ;D -
Oops, my crystal ball is broken too -((( It looks like epidemic…
iamthed, it's not about your English. It's about the information you give us.
And if when you "discard pfSense" everything works fine why do you need to use Firewall?my boss told me that's must be a firewall error because when i use sniffing from router. the IP come from firewall WAN interface not from the client IP ( he thinks it's a proxy, i have a proxy but i'm not using transparent proxy and i never setup browser to client so it's cannot be proxy)
you (and may be your boss) should probably read about NAT.
Don't get me wrong there is no intention to be rude to you but it's impossible to give you an advice.
