      Hello,

I have looked everywhere online and would appreciate some assistance getting wireless up and running with DD-WRT on the OPT1 NIC of my pfSense box.  Here is my setup:

      pfSense 1.2.2.
3x Intel NICs (WAN, LAN, OPT1)
Comcast Business Internet w/5 static IPs
      LAN 192.168.40.0/24
Trying to set wireless up on 192.168.41.0/24

I have the LAN/WAN portion working perfectly (have for several months) but now I have a need to add wireless to the system.  I knew this day was coming so I added 3 NICs when I built the system and so far have done the following to try to get this working:

      1. Assigned the NIC under "Interfaces" in pfSense
      2. Went into Firewall > Rules then the "OPT1" tab and added a rule allowing all TCP traffic
      3. plugged a LAN port from the dd-wrt router into the OPT1 NIC on the pfSense box

I can access the dd-wrt GUI from a PC plugged into a switch on the LAN (that can access the net) and have tried everything I can think of to get a wireless client to connect to the internet.  If I have dd-wrt setup as a dhcp server then wireless clients can connect to the wireless network but no internet  From what I have read so far, dd-wrt is not supposed to be a DHCP server - unfortunately the only other option is DHCP forwarder (which I have tried) or leaving it as a server and mark it "disabled".  No matter what I have tried it doe snot work.  I have also tried bridging the OPT1 to the LAN under "Interfaces > OPT1" under "IP Configuration" > "Bridge with" I chose "LAN".

Anyway, if someone has done this setup before and has time to reply, I would greatly appreciate it.

      Regards,

      Dave

        Solved

        I used this tutorial: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless_Access_Point
to put the dd-wrt router into Wireless Access Point mode.  I gave the dd-wrt router an ip address in the same subnet of the main router that was outside the dhcp pool and then plugged the dd-wrt into the switch, not into the OPT1 port.

I was able to connect just fine after that and am now enjoying a blazing fast wireless signal  :D
