      Hello,

      I am using a pfsense as a home firewall and connected to a remote vpn using a remote vpn provider, when i run the software i get 100Mbps + no problem, when i go via the pfsense openvp client im getting 60Mbps so around a 40% loss on speed

      I have these in my custom settings

      I am using UDP port 53, also tried other ports and made no difference

      tls-client;
      remote-random;
      tun-mtu 1500;
      tun-mtu-extra 32;
      mssfix 1400;
      persist-key;
      persist-tun;
      reneg-sec 0;
      remote-cert-tls server;

      I have attached a screenshot - removed sensitive details.

      Does any one have any advice to increase speed?

        @chrisjmuk

        my first suggestion is turn off compression
        turn buffer down. 512k perhaps

        try a few other servers to see if that particular one is overloaded

          @bcruze Thank you, made no difference in speed though. CPU is fine on the host as well.
