Setup PIA dedicated IP?
-
Is it possible to use a dedicated IP purchased from Private Internet Access with OpenVPN/pfSense? The only setup instructions I can find are related to the PIA client... nothing for router setup. Just curious if anyone has experience with this.
Thanks

You can configure pfSense to connect to a PIA server. So yes, it's possible to run a OpenVPN client on a router.
But why you want a dedicated IP? For accessing from the internet? Yes, that's possible as well. -
@viragomann This is the dedicated IP service offered by PIA. https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/blog/private-internet-access-launches-dedicated-ip-address-option/

Okay, so this is only a dedicated outbound IP for each vpn user.
This has no impact on the vpn client connection from pfSense to the PIA service. -

The only way I know to make it work is by using the client 'app' installed on a machine. I am trying to figure out if there is a way to use it with pfsense, in such a way that all my PIA traffic is on that IP.... instead of one of the generic IPs that PIA normally assigns.

If it is a standard OpenVPN it will work on pfSense as well. But I don't know, what their desktop app really does. You may have to ask the providers support for details.
