had to restore PFSense after change of NIC settings, now PFBlockerNG not showing in packages, but still running?

So, I managed to "break" my PFSense 2.5.0 install after unchecking the boxes in System > Advanced > Networking. My system has two Realtek NIC's (yes, I know, not recommended) with the updated drivers, not the base drivers. After unchecking Hardware TCP Segmentation Offloading, Hardware Large Receive Offloading, and hn ALTQ support (mostly thinking because "hey, I've got the latest drivers in there, surely the NIC can handle all this stuff!") the machine would hang initializing the firewall. No access to the GUI.
So, I uploaded an older config XML back to the device, and it booted just fine....EXCEPT...
Now under Packages, pfBlockerNG no longer shows. (no packages show at all, but that was the only one I added). HOWEVER...pfBlockerNG is still running just fine. Shows up under the Firewall menu.
I am hesitant to download it again, as I've read that wipes out its configuration. But without a listing in packages, I'm not sure if it can ever be upgraded again.
Has anyone seen this behavior before? Where after a restore of a PFSense config file, Packages shows no packages installed, and yet the package (at least for pfBlockerNG) continues to function?

I'd just reinstall if you think you have the 'Save Settings' checkbox marked. You could always just build fresh and restore the config, too.
