Excuse me, please. But i desperately need to download stable pfSense-CE-memstick-2.5.0-RELEASE-amd64.img.gz to downgrade pfSense due to Regression #11805. Could anybody help? I have not found any link on pfsense.org.

          be careful with downloads somewhere!

If you don't select the architecture you see the old versions:

          Download pfSense.gif

So how does one get 2.4.5_1 then?

I have a new client with a system running that version. Yes, I have a backup of my config. But I want to have the ISO downloaded prior to breaking my internet.

@jared-busch My advice is stay away from 2.5 line of release like it is the plague, especially if you have a stable 2.4.5 p1 running.

I can search and find results on any number of third party locations.

I can even use archive.org and get their copy from this site.
                        https://web.archive.org/web/20201218052145mp_/https://nyifiles.pfsense.org/mirror/downloads/pfSense-CE-memstick-2.4.5-RELEASE-p1-amd64.img.gz

But that is not what I asked.

The question was how to get 2.5.0. I expanded that based on the comments in this conversation about not seeing the older versions.

You want a precisely worded question?

Fine, how does one legally, through the pfsense.org website, download older versions so we can have a backup copy prior to doing upgrades?

And where am I supposed to get the checksum from? The same site I download from? HAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAH

Can't, but you can open a ticket at go.netgate.com and they'll send it to you (support contract not required). If on plus/ARM hardware that's the only way, otherwise, yeah, download each version and keep it.

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

Great, they have it, but nothing on that screen shows anything related to older versions. Who, besides you, wastes time clicking around on unrelated links?

Why would anyone expect to see older checksums when they don't offer anything else older? I didn't set the expectation, they did.

I would guess any "Linux Professional" would use that URL to get a shasum file to verify the download. On linux the file is easy to use for veriify.
