    Boot stops at "cd0: Attempt to query device size failed: NOT READY, Medium not present - tray closed"

      Decided to give "pfsense 2.6.0.a.20210501.0100" a try and it failed to complete the boot process. It was trying to query the DVD device. There was no crash. It just really wanted to know the device size of an empty DVD drive.

      The solution - I found the closest media I had, which was a movie DVD, placed into DVD drive and power-cycled the firewall. It was much happier and completed the boot process.
