The gateway address 192.168.1.254 does not lie within one of the chosen interface's subnets.

Hi,
I'm new to pfSense, but this error makes no sense to me- The IP of the WAN interface is static, 192.1068.1.253/24
- I use the box as a router, its internal IP is 192.168.1.254/24
When I try to add the box as a gateway to the WAN interface, I get the above message.
I'm (very, use it for over 20 years) familiar with FreeBSD, also familiar with networking, but I don't understand this message, which is for me inadequate
Thanks for help,
Regards,
Xavier
PS the routing table has indeed no default route :
[21.02.2-RELEASE][admin@gondor.groumpf.org]/root: netstat -rn Routing tables Internet: Destination Gateway Flags Netif Expire 127.0.0.1 link#6 UH lo0 192.168.1.253 link#12 UHS lo0 192.168.1.253/32 link#12 U mvneta0. 192.168.100.0/24 link#10 U mvneta0. 192.168.100.253 link#10 UHS lo0

Typo perhaps?

Stupid me !
I didn't notice that the CIDR popup near the WABN address was by default /32. Setting it to /24 fixed the problem
Sorry
