It seems that there is a problem with the NTPD in
      1.2.3-RC2 built on Wed Jun 10 09:44:42 EDT 2009

In windows I see this error:
An error occured while Windows was synchronizing with a.b.c.d.
The time sample was rejected because: The peer's stratum is less than
      the host's stratum.

My NAS and SUSE also fails in updating the time.

This is on a freshly booted pfSense.

Maybe you have to wait that OpenNTPD is sync with peer(s) itself.

Wait a few minutes and retry.

        Regards

It was tested both before and after the reboot.
          They both failed.

I just tried again, and now it syncs, so it looks like the ntpd somehow failed before the reboot.
