      hey all,

just reading up on some of the packages. wondering if HAProxy is usable for home network use? online gaming, network speed, internet browsing, video streaming, etc..

im just getting in to the more advanced routing stuff. i've got severe ocd when it comes to my network, so as i master one section, i move to the next. i keep seeing/reading how amazing haproxy is, so if it is usable for a home network, can someone point me in the direction of a setup guide for it? i've read that it is beneficial for online gaming (xbox live) but cant find any info on how to set up. all the videos i see are for NAS servers or CLI setup. id just like to have it setup in pfsense so its all in one place.

      thanks!

If you were running a public server you may want to use it.

@ageekhere so aside from that, it would have no benefit to normal home use?

If the normal home use includes anything with a large number of connections which are overwhelming your router than maybe it could be used. You can always set it up for fun/learning and see how it works, you could try setting up a public minecraft server to test it.
