Hi, just my firt thoughts trying replacing vyos 1.4 by TNSR 21.07, i will not write a book, just pros, cons and my conclusion. (i'm french and my english is average)

      Hardware :
      Supermicro X11SDV-4C-TP8F
      32 GB
      512 GB NVME Storage

      Network :
      10 Gb WAN IPv 4/6.
10 Gb LAN Trunk with 6 Vlans. IPv 4/6.

      System :
Proxmox 7 with TNSR 21.07 Free licensing as VM.
      NIC passtrought to VM

      PROS :
      Blazing fast latency.
Performances dramatically increased compared to vyos (the price is minimum 25% CPU usage for 4 Vcpus).
      Easy configuration with online documentation.
I was waiting for DPDK technology for HOME/LAB users.

      CONS:
No Mdns service, it's very important for HOME (useless if no Vlan).
      No RA ICMPv6.
      No possible Zone based Firewall.
Can't install iperf package for test because of licensing. You could consider to put this package by default.
No real licensing mode for HOME/LAB, i could pay (reasonnables) fees to get access to updates and somes packages.

      Conclusion :
I have to return to vyos for now, essentialy for Mdns, but i was very pleased by this experience with DPDK for HOME/LAB, i could temporary pass on IPV6 RA, but not on Mdns.
I'll keep considering TNSR because it's a rock stable product and i'm sure it will keeps to evolve. I will try every new version with interest.

@mr-rosh To get this package, i have to get license and there is no license in the HOME+LAB version. If i could, i'll do :)

They may include avahi in defaults packages.

The package you listed is for pfsense not TNSR.

Thank you for your post anyways.
