      DPDK is available for FreeBSD and I saw this today on Twitter, see below:

      So, what the story...is it better than Netmap? Has anyone incorporates it into production mode IPS/IDS yet and can offer feedback?

      For Bill (@bmeeks) have you tested DPDK yet? is there an option to use DPDK or Netmap?

        No and no.

        There are many details involved with using DPDK, and more especially with an Inline IPS Mode. There is someone working on DPDK support in Suricata. I saw some posts in a thread on the Suricata forums here: https://forum.suricata.io/t/discussion-for-dpdk-api-support-into-suricata/202.
