After 2.6 RC upgrade, "failed to open stream: Permission denied" error
-
Got an error message after upgrading to 2.6 RC CE ,
I'm sure it's a simple fix. Also happens on reboot. The message is:"[21-Jan-2022 12:33:50 US/Michigan] PHP Warning: file_put_contents(/var/db/notifyqueue.messages): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /etc/inc/notices.inc on line 261"
I'm sure there must be a quick and easy fix for this. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks -

Nobody here has been able to replicate that, but someone else reported it the other day. Seemed to be from an attempt by the NUT package to send an e-mail notification early in the boot process.

@jimp It's on an older Lanner FW-7551B Atom C2358 with 4gb ram if that helps . Yep... NUT is installed.
Other than an occasional Unbound crash that also happens (but was happening on 2.5.1 before the 2.6 RC upgrade) , it all seems to be working just fine.( BTW, I just let the watchdog restart Unbound. )
Is there another log or anything I can post that may help you guys out ? I will disable NUT and reboot it later, see if it goes away. Thanks for the info.

Do you ever receive any e-mail notifications from NUT?
It's not clear if it's a problem in general any time it's trying to send them or just something at boot time.

OK, I found the cause and we'll have a workaround in place soon.

@jimp I read the issue link .
The error suppression is working fine for me as of the last update. Thanks ! -
@tbird635 +1, Just updated an install that uses NUT and has e-mail and other notification types enabled to 2.6.0.r.20220124.1828 and got a bunch of
[02-Feb-2022 07:26:33 Etc/UTC] PHP Warning: file_put_contents(/var/db/notifyqueue.messages): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /etc/inc/notices.inc on line 261
Great to see it is being dealt with already :)
