Pfsense 2.5.2 update to 2.6 internet problem Upload down
-
Hi I have updated Pfsense from ver. 2.5.2 stable to ver. 2.6, I started having problems on the Internet, doing various fiber tests, on some Speedtest platforms, I noticed that the Download, well I badly rethought its parameters, while the upload is almost down, and from there I understood the slowness of opening many web pages. Then turning on the web I read that you could switch to the Plus version. I registered on Netgate and got the Token to switch to the Plus version 22.01. But in the end the problems didn't go away, and to get a better connection I had to bypass the Pfsense Firewall.
If anyone has had the same problem, I would appreciate some Fixes to solve the problem
Thank youVInce

You don't state whether you are running pfSense on bare-metal or some kind of virtualization platform. If by chance you are running a pfSense virtual machine on Hyper-V, you may be impacted by the bug reported in this long thread: https://forum.netgate.com/topic/169884/after-upgrade-inter-v-lan-communication-is-very-slow-on-hyper-v.
Are you running pfSense as a virtual machine or on bare metal? Please describe your hardware-level setup (bare metal, if so what type; or VM and which hypervisor).

@bmeeks
thanks for the answer, Pfsense is installed on Hyper-v Win 10 Pro, the problem that after the update I had a drastic slowdown in the Internet, especially in Upload. I ran some tests on the various SpeedTest platforms, and they gave me confirmation. Thank you, now I take a look at the thread you sent me, and cmq Pfsense is not new to these problems, even on version 2.5.2 I had problems, which did not update the DDNS of no-ip.Thank yo

If you are running pfSense on Hyper-V, then most definitely the bug I linked earlier is what you are hitting. You can read through all the posts in that long thread and find a couple of things to try. They worked for some, but not everyone. If the suggested changes on the Hyper-V and VM side don't help your situation, you will need to rollback to pfSense-2.5.2 until the problem is fixed. It is an incompatibility between a feature in Hyper-V called RSC and FreeBSD-12.3 STABLE (which is the new OS version pfSense is built upon). The previous 2.5.2 pfSense version is built on FreeBSD 12.2 STABLE which does not have the issue with RSC in Hyper-V.
