pfSense openvpn Client - local LAN-Clients are not able to reach remote LAN
-
Hey there,
i've setup a remote openvpn server and can connect due to normal openvpn client and use the private remote network.
Now i wanted to make the pfsense a client to not have to connect with each device in the local network to that openvpn server. So i've created a new user for my pfsense, added the settings and started the client.
All push rules are performed correctly, vpn is working, pfsense can ping remote hosts.
For any reason no other device in the pfsense controlled local network is able to use this tunnel.
local net 192.168.1.0
remote net 10.51.0.0
vpn net 10.51.1.0pfsense has 192.162.1.1
vpn-remote-server has 10.51.0.2 as local ip and as vpnserver 10.51.1.1now i try to reach a host behind that vpn tunnel
pfsense: traceroute 10.51.0.3 traceroute to 10.51.0.3 (10.51.0.3), 64 hops max, 40 byte packets 1 10.51.1.1 (10.51.1.1) 7.802 ms 7.139 ms 8.070 ms 2 10.51.0.1 (10.51.0.1) 12.187 ms 11.511 ms 12.286 ms 3 10.51.0.3 (10.51.0.3) 9.790 ms 7.897 ms 7.876 ms
local_client: traceroute 10.51.0.2 traceroute to 10.51.0.3 (10.51.0.3), 64 hops max, 52 byte packets 1 pfsense (192.168.1.1) 0.781 ms 0.483 ms 0.544 ms 2 * * *
So the routing seems to be correct but pfsense seems not to gateway the traffic from the local network.
is there any checkbox, i was missing? =)
thx in advance :)

seems like, the only, what was missing, was a OUTGOING NAT rule
i've added a rule with allow all from LAN to the remote net behind the tunnel. that made it work.
