This is mostly an FYI that the client export is missing server IP in the client config. I was able to solve this by changing the Host Name Resolution to other and typing in the static WAN IP.

However, I did not have this issue before. I can't point my finger at what exact change made this no longer work. Many pfSense updates have gone by, the gateway/routing has been simplified from a failover group to a single standard setup. The default primary gateway and address have not changed. In the past, using the default Interface IP Address option worked fine. I'm not willing to mess around with my gateway to find the root cause. Maybe I have to set the IPV4 gateway back to Automatic? But I'm afraid to touch anything there. If I lose the gateway, I lose everything. Not worth solving something that's already fixed.

Running pfSense CE 2.6.0, OpenVPN client export 2.5.2.
