      Hello Everyone,

Until recently I have been using pfsense connected to a openvpn client(pia) so that everything just connects via a vpn with no hassle. All was working great.

I checked the vpn status a couple days ago after noticing it wasent working. And saw it was in a down state with pending state for the remote address. I left it to see if anything would reconnect but nothing :/

So today, I decided to factory reset my installation(Have done twice now) and start from scratch(Have also tried reinstalled from fresh iso). And so far still wont connect. I have tried rolling back to 2.5.0 with the same result.

I have tried an allow any to any firewall rule also tried numerous vpn configurations, setting my nat outbound address family to just ipv4. Assigning ovpnc1 as an opt1 interface. This is all just seems very strange from my pov :/

What is also very strange is using there(pia) desktop client to connect via udp using default settings would not work either. After adjusting to tcp it connected fine. But on pfsense both udp and tcp configurations dont work :/ I've used pia for a number of years and this is the first problem I've come across with them.
      My logs:
      https://pastebin.com/raw/QmttYqR1

And yes I can ping the vpn server, So I don't think its anything isp level?
Any help would be much appreciated

      Thanks, Whitefed0ra :)

@whitefed0ra are you still having connection problems with PIA? I'm asking because my PIA also stopped on PFsense 2.60...
After reading several posts, I was told that using TLS keys are going to be removed in PFsense v2.70. If this is true, I don't know yet and first must be determined. Until then, my VPN is offline.
