Hey guys, updated my cable modem from XB6 to XB7 with Shaw in Canada. Went into Dynamic DNS and updated it to the new IP. Get to work today and i cannot connect with my road warrior setup back to home. I didn't realize how much i miss not being connected to my home network. Can't access Unraid, my cameras, etc. Basically i stay connected to my home through my phone 24/7 on the VPN. Looking for anything i should check.

You mention both Modem & Router.

If it's a router , maybe you need to port forward the OpenVPN port

Did your public IP address change? I would expect that to happen with a new modem. If Shaw does things the same way as Rogers, the host name would change too.

          I haven't lost my mind. It's around here...somewhere...

thanks guys.. the router, i put in bridged mode so now it is basically a cable modem. I also updated the ip at duckdns so i access the vpn via the duckdns address. when i ping that address, it shows the right ip the comes up in PFsense.

Hey guys, figured it out. Talked to a Shaw rep and I had the internet plugged into the wrong ethernet port on the back of the modem. Weird because everything worked but the one port is a dedicated WAN port that i didn't notice. My eyes aren't the same as they used to be, lol..
